PURPOSE: To demonstrate Lenz's law dramatically.

DESCRIPTION: A ball magnet and a steel ball is dropped through a aluminum pipe. Eddy currents cause the magnet to drop very slowly. This can also be done with a aluminum "L" channel so the students can see the effect.
