Professional Biography

Dr. Valenzano took her Master degree in Physics in 1999 at the University of Torino (I) with a project in collaboration with the BaBar experiment (SLAC-USA). She then moved to Southampton (UK) where in 2003 she got her PhD working on the non-adiabatic properties of H2+ and its isotopomers. From 2003 to 2005 she was a postdoc in the theoretical chemistry group of the University of Leiden (NL) where she worked on the photodissociation of (H2O)2. In 2005 she moved back to her hometown, where for more than five years she was postdoc in the theoretical chemistry group of the University of Torino (I), where she studied properties and features of crystalline solids by means of the CRYSTAL program. In the last two years, she mainly worked on the adsorption properties of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) through international collaborations (Norway, Germany, Spain). She recently moved to Houghton (Michigan, USA) to work as Assistant Research Scientist and Instructor at the Michigan Technological University where she is involved in the computational studies of energetic materials and boron nanotubes.
